Spring Book Sale
April 28th-May 6th

Pick up great summer reads at the Beverly Public Library’s Annual Book Sale. All hardcovers are $2, paperback and kids’ books are $1 (Harlequin paperbacks are $0.25). DVDs, VHS, music and audiobooks are also available.

Monday – Thursday: 9AM to 9PM
Friday & Saturday: 9AM to 5PM
Sunday: 1PM to 5 PM

The 5th Grade Presents MARY POPPINS

Centerville’s 5th Grade will perform Mary Poppins this Thursday and Friday evening, April 25 and 26th, at 6:30 PM. The kids have been preparing and rehearsing for months, and it’s sure to be a great time!

PS ~ Come early, seats go fast and enjoy the refreshments being sold by this year’s 4th graders!

Book Drive for Bootstraps

Doing a little spring cleaning these days?

Centerville’s 5th Grade Girl Scout Junior Troop #66796 is accepting new and gently-used childrens-through-youth chapter books until the end of April.

The books will be distributed to attendees of Bootstraps Summer Program, and a collection box is located in the school lobby.

Bring Your Parents Back to School Night

Wednesday evening, April 11th is Bring Your Parents Back to School. Come in with your student(s) to see their good work. Chat with their teachers, too! This is always a fun night for Centerville, and they’ve all been working so hard!

Grades K-2: 6-6:30 PM
Grades 3-5: 6:45-7:15 PM

Green Team Can and Bottle Drive

The 4th and 5th grade students of the Centerville Green Team will be holding a can and bottle drive to raise money for the club’s activities while doing community service. Please show your support by collecting all returnable (with deposit) beverage glass bottles, plastic bottles, or aluminum cans. You can drop them off at Centerville Elementary School’s parking lot.

Drop off times:

Friday April 27 from 2-3

Saturday April 28 from 9-12

In the Centerville Elementary School parking lot, 17 Hull Street, Beverly.

Also, during the entire month of April, you can bring them directly to the Beverly Redemption Center at 54 West Dane Street and ask them to put them on the Green Team’s tab.

Community Read 2012

The Beverly Library and Hamilton-Wenham Library are presenting a month of events celebrating the life and work of Dr. Gordon Sato. Dr. Sato is an award winning biologist who launched the Manzabar project, aimed at attacking the planet’s most critical problems such as poverty, hunger, environmental pollution, and global warming.

Two books will be featured during the events in March. The Mangrove Tree by Susan Roth and Cindy Trumbore and Farewell to Manzabar by Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston.

There are events scheduled at the main library branch in Beverly, the Beverly Farms branch and also the Hamilton-Wenham branch. On Thursday, March 29, Dr. Sato will speak on the Gordon College campus from 7:30 – 8:30.
